Job description

Mid-City Lumber Company is a long-standing local business which strives to provide customers with quality products, friendly knowledgeable staff, and fast delivery. We offer a casual work environment with a family atmosphere. We are currently looking for someone to join our team in the following position:

Lube Technician

Job Duties:

  • Assist in routine maintenance of the company trucks and forklifts.
  • Assist in performing the scheduled maintenance of the fleet
    • Daily-filter replacements, oil changes, fluid top off, and component inspections.
  • Assist in repair and maintenance paperwork at manager's direction
  • Works under the direction of the Mechanic Manager assisting other mechanics

Full time position, Monday-Friday After 60-day probationary period, the following benefits are available:

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Missouri driver's license.
  • Must have a good and insurable driving record.
  • Must be able to safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts, conveyors, etc.
  • Must be able to safely operate hydraulic lifts, air compressors, diagnostic machines, and pneumatic tools used in a vehicle repair shop.
  • The physical requirements for this job include walking and standing on concrete floors. Stair and ladder climbing are required. Working outside and in unheated storage areas may be required at times. This job is subject to the temperature, humidity, and precipitation extremes of the local climate. All motor skills normally used in grasping, lifting, bending, turning, and carrying (minimum of 80 lbs.) are necessary. Correctable vision and hearing are needed.
  • Must be able to understand written and oral instructions. Must be able to follow multi-step instructions.
  • Flexibility required in working with co-workers.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have some mechanic training and basic knowledge of truck repair.
  • Tire experience is strongly preferred
