We are looking for a dependable and experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our team. You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of lumber, millwork, and heavy construction materials to residential and commercial jobsites. This role requires a professional driver who is comfortable with local routes, heavy lifting, and operating specialized equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe Transportation: Operate tractor-trailers and heavy trucks (GVW over 26,000 lbs) to deliver products in and around Mid-Missouri.
  • Load Securement: Ensure all lumber and building materials are correctly stacked, braced, and secured using straps or chains to prevent shifting during transit.
  • Equipment Operation: Use forklifts, truck-mounted hoists (Moffetts), or boom trucks to load and unload materials at various jobsite terrains.
  • Compliance & Safety: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain accurate DOT driver logs and follow all federal and state motor carrier regulations.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide high-quality service at delivery sites, verifying load accuracy against tickets and assisting with returns as needed.

Qualifications

  • Licensing: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience is preferred.
  • Physical Strength: Ability to consistently lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 80–100 lbs.
  • DOT Requirements: Must pass a DOT-regulated background check and drug screen.
  • Skills: Proficiency with digital navigation tools and the ability to maneuver large vehicles in tight residential or construction areas.

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay Range: Depending on experience level and location
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (approx. 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Home nightly.

As a condition to your employment with Mid-City Lumber, you acknowledge that Mid-City requires that a drug test be preformed within 72 hours of your acceptance of the offer of employment set forth in this letter.   You further acknowledge that if you (a) refuse to submit to any requested drug test for any reason, (b) test positive for the presence of illegal drugs, or (c) fail to take the test within 72 hours, the offer made to you in this letter may be rescinded by Mid-City without liability.  Also a condition of employment by Mid-City, you hereby authorize Mid-City to conduct a background check prior to the Commencement Date.  You acknowledge and agree that the offer of employment set forth in this letter is contingent uponthe completion of a background investigation to the satisfication of Mid-City.
