Job Description

We are an expert MicroStrategy Developer with experience in designing MicroStrategy visual dashboards using MicroStrategy software. A candidate with User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design experience is preferred.

Note: Resource must be available to work onsite at client facility in Washington DC. No remote work.

Required Skills:

5+ years experience as a MicroStrategy developer (reports, metrics, filters, etc.) and ability to design & develop dashboards including:

  • Understanding functionality and design
  • Determine enhancements
  • Create mockups for design approval
  • Create graphics, MicroStrategy Objects, and documentation
  • Perform testing of enhanced dashboards
  • Experience presenting to and interacting with senior management.

Must have a working knowledge and documented experience in a variety of other development environments including the following:

  • Web HTML Development (e.g. Cold Fusion)
  • SQL
  • Teradata
  • SAS
  • Minitab.

Ability to create and/or review MicroStrategy technical designs based on functional requirements

Ability to build and maintain MicroStrategy schema objects (attributes, facts, hierarchies, tables, views, etc.) and public objects (metrics, filters, templates, reports, dashboards, etc.)

Ability to effectively interface with clients and other stakeholders to gather and define functional requirements

Ability to audit existing reporting and to troubleshoot discrepancies between existing reporting systems.

Experience working with a Relational Database using SQL

Strong written and verbal communication

Software Development Lifecycle experience (Waterfall or Agile)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience provide designs and recommendations for executive & customer dashboard User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Redesign (Design, Development and Testing).
  • Bachelor s degree and 10+ year s industry experience.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, adapt, and resolve operational and architecture issues
  • Experience with full Agile life-cycle software applications development (i.e., design, construction, testing, and implementation)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
