Job description

Modjeski and Masters (M&M) is looking for a full‑time Senior Roadway Engineer / Project Manager with at least 10 years of experience on FDOT highway projects and a valid Florida State PE. The role involves leading challenging transportation engineering projects for Florida clients, working collaboratively with experienced professionals, and interacting directly with clients throughout the project life cycle.

Qualifications
  • Registered PE in the State of Florida
  • Minimum of 10 years FDOT highway and highway‑specific project experience
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Highway/Transportation Design from an ABET accredited college or university
  • Experience managing multi‑discipline projects, including bridge replacement, new bridge alignment, or bridge rehabilitation
  • Client relationships with FDOT District Four and FDOT District Six
  • Proficient in MicroStation and Bentley Open Road Designer, familiarity with AASHTO
  • Ability to work in a team environment, with a professional sense of urgency and self‑initiative to meet client needs
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to mentor junior engineers
  • Detail oriented with good oral and written communication skills and fluency in English
Skills
  • Knowledge of MicroStation and Bentley Open Road Designer
  • Ability to work in a team environment on related projects
  • Familiarity with AASHTO standards

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and leadership guidance for transportation engineers
  • Maintain strong client relationships and pursue and win projects with FDOT and local agency clients
  • Prepare proposals and marketing presentations
  • Manage multiple projects and project teams within budget and schedule
  • Perform roadway design tasks and plan preparation utilizing Open Road Designer, from conception to final deliverables, including specifications, cost estimates, and post‑design services
  • Develop preliminary details using CAD software and coordinate with CAD technicians and/or junior engineers for development of contract plans
  • Prepare project‑related documents and internal correspondence
  • Perform and check quantity take‑offs from contract plans
  • Review and check roadway and shop drawings
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
