Job description

Job Title: Systems Engineer Location: Hanscom AFB Type: Contract To Hire Compensation: Negotiable Work Model: Onsite Hours: 40.0 Security Clearance: TS/SCI

Responsibilities

  • Apply broad theoretical and practical knowledge of system engineering to the acquisition process.
  • Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to ensure subsystem and system performance in accordance with specifications.
  • Perform program reviews to evaluate proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results, ensuring performance is met per program requirements.
  • Prepare technical documents defining, specifying, and recommending system/subsystem characteristics.
  • Develop management reports and deliver technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective actions leveraging engineering economy principles.
  • Validate systems by developing criteria and procedures.
  • Analyze and evaluate the results of major engineering systems.
  • Provide system/program engineering, technical support, and technical training for acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, deployment, and operations support.
  • Support program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force SEAM processes.
Requirements
  • 5+ years experience in systems engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; additional experience may substitute for degree requirements
  • Experience with Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) activities (TRR, SRR, CDR) and integration support with AFLCMC/WBD – B-Kit/A-Kit
  • Knowledge of requirements management (SRD, CDD), Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), evaluations, and risk management
  • Experience with RFP development, requirements gathering, analysis, and source selection criteria
  • Knowledge of digital engineering tools and strategies including Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Experience with automation platforms and the entire system development life cycle
  • Proficiency in process modeling, workflow diagram development, and translating requirements into technical specifications
  • Ability to perform trade space analysis, roadmap analysis, and cost vs. capability trade-offs
  • Strong communication skills for technical and management audiences and technical presentation development
