When you join Crown Castle, you become part of a dynamic team of passionate and collaborative professionals engaging in complex challenges and contributing to projects that shape the future of life and work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Microsoft 365 Engineer III will be hands-on in operating, securing, and advancing Crown Castle’s Microsoft 365 platform. Your contributions will introduce standardization, modernization, and automation, and you will build and support the M365 services consumed by teammates across the enterprise.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Serve as the senior subject-matter expert for SharePoint Online, designing site and information architecture, permissions models, and governance for enterprise content and collaboration
  • Administer and optimize Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange environments, including mail flow, transport rules, connectors, and coexistence with on-premises Exchange
  • Lead messaging migrations and hybrid configurations between on-premises Exchange and Exchange Online, ensuring secure and seamless mailbox coexistence
  • Develop automation using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and the Power Platform to standardize provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management across M365 services
  • Implement and maintain security and compliance controls—data loss prevention, retention, sensitivity labeling, and conditional access—in alignment with current standards

  • 5+ years of experience administering and engineering Microsoft 365 in large enterprise environments, with broad competency across all core workloads
  • Deep, demonstrable expertise in SharePoint Online—site collection and information architecture, permissions and governance, content migration, and end-user enablement
  • Extensive proficiency administering Exchange Online, including mail flow, transport rules, connectors, mobile device access, mail enabled security groups, and message hygiene
  • Hands-on experience with on-premises Exchange Server and Exchange hybrid deployments, including mailbox migrations and coexistence
  • 3+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting and automation for M365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Graph)
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams administration, including governance, policies, and telephony/voice where applicable
  • Working knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD), including identity, conditional access, and directory synchronization (Entra Connect / AAD Connect)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Purview security and compliance tooling—DLP, retention, and sensitivity labels
  • High degree of collaboration and influence; able to dissect complicated technical problems and apply sound judgment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to document, standardize, and continuously improve operational practices
