Job description

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft infrastructure technologies to serve as the organization's onsite technical subject matter expert for Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Intune, and VMware environments.

This individual will play a critical role in both supporting and modernizing the current infrastructure while helping establish long-term architecture, standards, governance, and best practices. The ideal candidate is not only a strong systems administrator but also someone who understands infrastructure architecture, can drive improvements, and enjoys collaborating closely with team members through knowledge sharing and mentorship.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on infrastructure professional who enjoys transforming and optimizing enterprise environments rather than simply maintaining them.

This is a contract to hire position located onsite in Cicero, Illinois.

Qualifications
  • Significant hands-on experience administering enterprise Microsoft infrastructure environments.
  • Strong expertise with:
    • Active Directory
    • Microsoft 365
    • Entra ID
    • Intune
    • VMware
  • Experience supporting hybrid Microsoft environments.
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management principles.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
  • Experience documenting environments, implementing standards, and driving infrastructure improvements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must demonstrate a "can-do" attitude

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of professional experience and technical expertise will also be considered.
  • Relevant Microsoft, VMware, or infrastructure certifications are a plus.

Compensation Range: 

$48-$57 per hour
