Overview
Microsoft's Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) Finance team is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead the evolution of reporting, analytics, and automation across core finance rhythms of business.
This role sits at the intersection of finance, data, and technology, with a mandate to modernize how insights are created and delivered. The successful candidate will serve as an AI catalyst within MCAPS Finance, accelerating the adoption of AI and intelligent automation across financial workflows.
This individual will own the end-to-end reporting lifecycle-from data and semantic model design through insight generation and executive delivery-driving simplification, scalability, and consistency across close, forecast, and planning processes.
The ideal candidate combines strong finance acumen with hands-on experience building BI environments and a passion for eliminating manual work through automation.

Responsibilities
Business Partnership
  • Provide actionable insights on revenue performance, business health, and investment decisions
  • Influence decision-making through clear, data-driven narratives
  • Partner with stakeholders to continuously improve insight quality and business impact
  • Act as a trusted advisor to finance and business leaders across MCAPS

AI, Automation & Insight Transformation
  • Serve as an AI catalyst within MCAPS Finance, driving adoption of AI, copilots, and automation across core financial workflows (e.g., forecasting, variance analysis, executive reporting)
  • Transform traditional reporting into dynamic, automated, insight-driven solutions
  • Identify and eliminate manual processes by building repeatable, scalable workflows across reporting, forecast, and close
  • Partner across finance, data, and engineering teams to operationalize AI-enabled and automation-first decision support models

End-to-End Reporting & BI Platform Ownership
  • Own and continuously improve the end-to-end reporting lifecycle, including semantic modeling, reporting, and insight delivery
  • Design and build scalable BI environments (e.g., Power BI, Fabric, semantic models, data pipelines)
  • Drive standardization of metrics, definitions, and reporting frameworks across solution areas
  • Centralize and simplify reporting to ensure outputs are accurate, scalable, and aligned to business needs
  • Partner with Finance and Engineering teams to deliver durable, production-grade data and reporting solutions

Trust and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and reporting standards
  • Maintain data governance and accuracy across automated reporting solutions

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.
  • Experience building BI and reporting solutions (e.g., Power BI, Fabric, SQL, semantic models)
  • Skilled financial modeling and business performance analysis skills
  • Experience translating complex data into executive-ready insights
  • Show intellectual curiosity in AI and its application to finance
  • Demonstrated builder mindset with experience creating scalable systems
  • Passion for simplification, automation, and operational excellence

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
