Overview
Microsoft Frontier Company is a new operating business focused on delivering Frontier Transformation through AI for our customers around the world. It will provide a unique combination of skills inclusive of deep industry knowledge, change management and continuous improvement experience, and enterprise-grade AI engineering expertise. This goes beyond what has been labeled as Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) and will be the largest, most capable, outcome-driven engineering organization in the industry. We are making a $2.5B investment in Microsoft Frontier Company, embedding 6,000 industry and engineering experts at customers to co-design, co-innovate, deploy and continuously improve AI systems at scale based on measurable business outcomes.
FrontierCo finance team is part of Microsoft Commercial and Partner Solutions finance organization. We build and run the finance operating system to enable this new Microsoft business to achieve its objectives, we enage in the most exciting and advanced FrontierAI business model development and analysis, and we help the business scale its impact while reinforcing commitment to Microsoft's ROI. We are a team of energetic finance professionals with game changer mentality and ready to accept new challenges to help the business transform. This team operates as a trusted partner to our stakeholder teams. Microsoft is making significant investment in the sales and strategy team in Microsoft Frontier Company, this team include senior sales executives that impacts the most significant Microsoft deals, Industry experts that combines combines vertical insight and broad Microsoft product knowledges, and strategy and operations teams that enables the success of this new organization. Your role as the Opex Finance Controller will be an instrumental partner to those teams to help them achieve clarity in resource allocation vs blueprint, make investment decisions that help achieve business and finance objectives and provide insight toward improving the operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
1. Manage P&L outcome to achieve key financial commitment Micrsooft. 2. Develop resource blueprint through partnership with business, enforce resource allocation according to principles hiring decisions. 3. Provide consistent and accurate insight(HC, CPH, Program Spending) to help understand business drivers behind financial results. 4. Partner with broader Microsoft finance team in developing financial budget and forecast, use those as targets to guide the forward looking business operations.
Qualifications
Required Qalifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years work experience in the technology or software industry.
  • Experience in working with Frontier AI business model and tools is a strong plus
  • 5+ years work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • Experience in Busienss decision support and partnership with senior business leaders

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
