Job description

We are seeking a Lead Microsoft Fabric Developer & Administrator to lead the design, development, administration, and governance of a unified, AI-ready data platform. The ideal candidate will combine strong data engineering expertise with hands-on Microsoft Fabric administration, architecture, security, governance, and capacity management experience.

The role requires expertise across Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Power BI, Spark, SQL, and Azure to build scalable and governed enterprise data solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities Architecture & Data Engineering
  • Design and implement Microsoft Fabric OneLake architectures using Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
  • Build and manage Fabric Lakehouses, Warehouses, and Semantic Models.
  • Develop data integration solutions using Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Fabric Shortcuts.
  • Design and manage connectivity and data ingestion from SaaS and enterprise data sources.
  • Optimize Fabric workloads and capacity utilization through effective architecture and development practices.
  • Develop and optimize PySpark notebooks, T-SQL, and DAX solutions.
  • Optimize semantic models using DirectLake for high-performance analytics and reporting.
Administration & Governance
  • Administer and manage the Microsoft Fabric tenant, including tenant settings, configurations, and security controls.
  • Monitor and optimize Fabric Capacity (F-SKUs) using the Capacity Metrics app.
  • Develop capacity scaling and workload optimization strategies to improve performance and cost efficiency.
  • Implement and manage RBAC, Row-Level Security (RLS), and Object-Level Security (OLS).
  • Integrate Microsoft Fabric with Microsoft Purview for data discovery, governance, lineage, classification, and compliance.
  • Define and enforce data labels and protection policies across Fabric.
  • Configure Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to prevent unauthorized access, sharing, or data leakage.
  • Integrate Fabric with Azure Log Analytics for centralized logging, auditing, monitoring, and trend analysis.
  • Monitor throttling, smoothing, and capacity events and proactively address performance issues and resource contention.
  • Identify high-consumption workloads and implement workload optimization, scheduling, or scaling strategies.
DevOps & Deployment
  • Establish and manage CI/CD processes for Microsoft Fabric solutions.
  • Implement Git integration and deployment pipelines across Development, Test, and Production environments.
  • Define development standards, deployment practices, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Support version control and automated deployment of Fabric artifacts.
Power BI & Enablement
  • Establish Power BI development, governance, and usage standards.
  • Support and guide business users in accessing and utilizing governed data through Power BI.
  • Conduct training and provide best practices for non-technical Power BI users.
  • Promote data governance, security, and self-service analytics across the organization.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with 1–2+ years of hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and Semantic Models.
  • Strong proficiency in PySpark, Spark Notebooks, T-SQL, and DAX.
  • Hands-on experience with Fabric Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Shortcuts, and DirectLake.
  • Experience designing and implementing Medallion Architecture and enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Fabric administration, governance, security, and capacity management.
  • Experience with Power BI administration, semantic modeling, governance, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview, data lineage, classification, and governance.
  • Knowledge of RBAC, RLS, OLS, DLP, and data protection policies.
  • Experience with Azure Log Analytics, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Experience implementing Git integration, CI/CD, and Fabric deployment pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based data architecture and enterprise data governance.

  • DP-600: Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate certification.
  • AZ-305: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, or other modern cloud data platforms.
