Job Summary

Hunter Foundry is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of experience to support the design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of electrical systems used in our foundry and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, automation, PLCs, and equipment reliability initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

· Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems, control panels, and power distribution systems for foundry operations.

· Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, automation, and control system issues to minimize downtime.

· Program, modify, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial control systems.

· Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities for electrical equipment.

· Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and other applicable safety standards.

· Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and manufacturing efficiency.

· Assist in the planning, execution, and commissioning of capital improvement projects.

· Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.

· Support vendors and contractors during equipment installations and upgrades.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

· Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, foundry, metals, or heavy manufacturing environments.

· Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, power distribution, and automation.

· Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley preferred).

· Experience with HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and industrial networking.

· Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety practices.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software tools.

Preferred Qualifications

· Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.

· Experience in foundry, casting, metal processing, or heavy industrial operations.

· Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software.

· Experience with robotics and industrial automation systems.
