Job description

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Project Engineer/Electrical Design Engineer. This is a permanent job. The work will be done onsite in Evanston, IL 3 days a week, the rest will be work from home. Compensation is $85,000-$105,000 + bonus.

Our client is seeking a Project Engineer/Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of electrical systems for healthcare, higher education, commercial, hospitality, laboratory, and pharmaceutical facilities.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on design work and wants to continue developing their technical expertise while working alongside experienced project managers and senior engineers.
Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems including lighting, power, low voltage, fire alarm, and emergency power.
  • Perform engineering calculations and prepare construction documents.
  • Develop AutoCAD and Revit drawings.
  • Conduct field investigations and site surveys.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, and contractors.
  • Review submittals and assist with construction administration.
  • Respond to RFIs and support project delivery activities.
  • Participate in project meetings and client interactions.
  • Assist with electrical infrastructure studies and building system upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 4-7 years of electrical engineering experience in an MEP consulting, AE firm, design-build contractor, facilities engineering group, or related environment.
  • Knowledge of building electrical systems and the National Electrical Code.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Healthcare, laboratory, higher education, or commercial project experience preferred.
  • EIT certification preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desire to learn and grow within a collaborative engineering environment.
