Title AI Enablement Lead

Department Information Technology

Location Niwot, CO

Reports To VP of IT

About Us

Established in 1972, Particle Measuring Systems is a global leader for micro-contamination monitoring equipment improving the performance of clean manufactures in the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries. We're a growing technology company in Niwot, Colorado, the heart of the Rocky Mountains. We offer an exceptional and rewarding work environment in a great place to live. Our employees enjoy challenging projects in the development and manufacture of light scattering particle counters and diverse technologies and applications.

Your Impact

We are looking for a AI Enablement Lead who will contribute to the success of the IT Team, applying their expertise in AI to support the achievement of team and company goals and delivering innovative, reliable solutions. In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate effectively with colleagues and cross-functional teams, demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and maintain a commitment to professional excellence, quality and continuous improvement.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to drive some of PMS's earliest AI proofofconcepts and implementations. You will work across Sales, Human Resources, Service, Operations and other core business functions to help define how AI can streamline, augment and transform the way we work.

The AI Enablement Lead is responsible for driving the adoption of AI tools across PMS, with a primary focus on internal user productivity and safe, secure AI usage. This role identifies and prioritizes AI use cases, builds and leads to a cross-functional network of AI champions, and serves as the organization's hands-on technical expert on generative AI and productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Perplexity). The expectation is this role is also a hands-on builder: using low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate) and light scripting against AI APIs.

This role reports measurable outcomes on AI investment and is a key contributor to PMS's broader digital and AI strategy.

Job Responsibilities

AI Strategy & Governance

  • Contribute to and help execute PMS's AI strategy and adoption roadmap.
  • Establish and maintain AI governance guidelines for safe, secure, and responsible, ethical, and lawful use of AI across public and international contexts.
  • Partner with Security and the Enterprise Architect on data handling standards and acceptable use policies for AI tools.

Use Case Identification & Prioritization

  • Manage an AI use case funnel; identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities to improve user productivity across departments.
  • Maintain a centralized AI opportunity portfolio, including intake status, business owner, expected value, risk profile, priority, and delivery progress.
  • Identify overlapping needs across departments and promote reuse of validated AI solutions to reduce duplication and accelerate value.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to scope pilots and define success metrics.

Adoption & Change Management

  • Build and lead PMS's AI Champions network - recruit, train, and support champions across functions (not concentrated in IT) to drive peer-to-peer adoption.
  • Work directly with teams to understand current workflows, pain points, and repetitive tasks, then translate those opportunities into practical AI-enabled improvements.
  • Make AI visible across the organization through demos, success stories, templates, playbooks, and shared examples.
  • Organize AI training, upskilling programs, and a recurring community forum to share wins, use cases, and lessons learned.
  • Apply structured change management practices, such as Prosci/ADKAR, to build awareness, reduce resistance, support behavior change, and reinforce sustained adoption of AI-enabled ways of working.
  • Foster an AI-forward culture and act as the organization's visible AI advocate.

Technical Expertise

  • Support teams in reimagining how AI and automation can meaningfully improve efficiency, quality and customer experience.
  • Oversee endtoend delivery of AI projects, ensuring technical development, testing, change management and implementation run smoothly.
  • Serve as PMS's hands-on technical expert on productivity AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and emerging tools).
  • Evaluate new AI tools and features; recommend adoption, configuration, and rollout approaches.
  • Track both productivity and quality outcomes, including time saved, cycle-time improvement, adoption levels, user satisfaction, and measurable business impact.
  • Capture lessons learned from pilots and use them to improve future AI enablement efforts.
  • Hands-on agent & automation building - build and deploy simple AI agents and workflow automations using low-code/no-code platforms (Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Zapier/Make) and light scripting against AI APIs.
  • Prototype internal automations (e.g., document summarization, ticket triage, meeting follow-ups) and hand off validated use cases for broader rollout.
  • Escalate use cases requiring production-grade architecture, custom RAG, or complex agent orchestration to the Enterprise Architect for scoping as a separate initiative.

Measurement & Reporting

  • Define adoption and productivity metrics (tool usage, hours saved, use cases in production) and report monthly outcomes to IT leadership.
  • Track AI program spends against measurable business value to support EBITDA-focused investment decisions.
  • Continuously evaluate processes for improvements in efficiency, quality, and safety
  • This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Responsibilities may evolve over time, and other related duties may be assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the company.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3-5 years in IT, digital enablement, or a related role, with hands-on, practical experience using generative AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, or similar).
  • Experience applying change management approaches, such as Prosci/ADKAR, to support technology adoption, stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and reinforcement.
  • Hands-on agent/automation building experience required: Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Zapier, Make, or similar low-code platforms; basic scripting (Python or JavaScript) for API-based automations is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive adoption and behavior change, ideally through peer/champion-style programs.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills; comfortable training and presenting to varied audiences.
  • Strong curiosity and experimentation mindset; comfortable testing new AI capabilities and translating them into practical business value
  • Working knowledge of AI governance, data security, and responsible AI usage principles.
  • Experience defining and reporting on productivity or ROI metrics.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365/Copilot administration, prompt engineering, or AI tool rollouts in a manufacturing or similarly regulated environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • This role primarily operates in an office environment. Must be able to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods of time
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. may be required
  • Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary range: $84,000 - $125,000. Our compensation philosophy: we offer competitive pay based on market data, including local, national, and industry benchmarks. For new hires, offers are generally within the established min- to mid-point of the range for the role, with flexibility to recognize experience, skills, and education. Our approach ensures fair pay internally while remaining competitive externally and allows room for growth.
  • Comprehensive benefits package:
    • Health coverage: medical, dental, vision, fsa, onsite clinic (CO employees), life insurance
    • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
    • Vacation, holiday, and leave policies
    • Tuition reimbursement, Employee recognition programs, Employee assistance programs
