At CESO, a Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s enterprise data architecture. This position develops scalable, secure, and governed data solutions that support reporting, analytics, operational excellence, and AI initiatives. The Data Architect translates business requirements into technical data solutions, establishes architecture standards, and ensures enterprise data is reliable, accessible, and positioned to support future growth.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, frameworks, design patterns, and best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, security, and maintainability across the company's data platforms and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain logical, physical, dimensional, and semantic data models.  Design enterprise database architectures, backend data structures, and scalable schema designs that support business applications, integrations, analytics, and AI initiatives.
  • Design and oversee enterprise data integration solutions, including APIs, ELT/ETL processes, cloud platforms, and reporting environments, ensuring scalable, secure, and reliable data movement
  • Partner with Data Engineers to design scalable lakehouse, warehouse, and data pipeline solutions using Microsoft Fabric, SQL, and Azure technologies.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical designs.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining enterprise data governance and compliance practices, including data quality, data ownership, stewardship, classification, and retention standards.
  • Provide architectural guidance for databases optimization, indexing strategies, partitioning, and performance tuning to support enterprise-scale workloads
  • Review data solutions for alignment with architecture standards, security requirements, and business objectives while maintaining documentation, data catalogs and lineage information.
  • Design enterprise data platform architectures that support disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and high availability requirements.
  • Support the development of AI-ready data platforms that enable advanced analytics, machine learning, automation, and future AI initiatives.
  • Provide analytical and problem-solving expertise to evaluate data-related opportunities, and decisions and communication them to relevant parties within the organization.
  • Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, align priorities, and deliver enterprise data solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience is required.
    • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, database administration, analytics engineering, enterprise data architecture or related disciplines is required.
  • Experience documenting and communicating technical architecture decisions and recommendations is required.
  • Experience supporting cloud modernization, digital transformation, or enterprise data platform initiatives is preferred.
  • Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Engineer, Azure Data Fundamentals, or related certifications, are preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional, Microsoft data certifications, or similar, are preferred.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, Azure SQL, data warehouses, data lakes, Data Factory or lakehouse architectures is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL and working with relational and analytical data structures is required.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture principles, data modeling, database design, and integration patterns is required.
  • Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK principles, data governance frameworks, and enterprise data management best practices is required.
  • Understanding of security, access controls, privacy requirements, and compliance considerations related to enterprise data is required.
  • Experience designing data models for operational reporting, business intelligence, and KPI Frameworks and analytics solutions is preferred.
  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning, Copilot, or advanced analytics initiatives is preferred.

• Columbus, OH: $90,669 - $114,848
