Job description

Job Summary:
Raytheon is the world's largest aerospace and defense company, dedicated to solving complex problems. The Sr Principal Mission Management Software Engineer will architect and develop software for satellite ground systems, guide the full software lifecycle, and foster modern DevSecOps practices.
Responsibilities:
• Architect and develop software for cutting edge satellite ground systems.
• Evolve the current software and system architecture to support customer defined requirements.
• Provide software engineering expertise for bids on future development activities.
• Guide the full software lifecycle including design, development, test, delivery, and maintenance.
• Foster modern DevSecOps development practices and utilize Agile processes.
Qualifications:
Required:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
• Experience designing and developing object-oriented software using Java.
• Experience with Java multi-threading.
• Experience with microservices in cloud environments.
• Experience developing planning & scheduling software or similar software systems.
• An active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. An active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance that can be crossed over to a TS/SCI security clearance is also acceptable. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred:
• Experience developing satellite planning and scheduling software.
• Software development lifecycle experience using the SAFe Agile methodology.
• Experience developing software using C++ and Python.
• Experience with microservices in an AWS environment using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Test Automation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes.
• Experience with tools such as Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, Junit, Kafka, and Spring Boot.
