Job description

Role Overview

This important leadership position includes inspecting and testing circuit boards and SMT electronic components within specified safety and quality requirements. Labeling and documentation signoff. Minor rework as necessary.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, and rework if necessary, printed circuit boards and mounted components for compliance to IPC-610 standards
  • Use various tools and equipment to test functional specifications
  • Accurately repairing/removing and replacing SMT components at efficient production speed without damaging sensitive components and boards
  • Solder components, wires, etc. onto circuit boards
  • By soldering, using bare wire, join similar boards together

Job Description

  • Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Performs online go/no-go testing and inspection, using visual magnifying devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment, to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Perform inspection operations under a stereo microscope or other magnifying device for sustained periods.
  • Rework, as necessary, boards and mounted components for compliance with IPC-610 standards.

Other Qualifications & Experience

  • Good finger dexterity and good eye-hand coordination
  • Must be able to read and write in the English language and accurately perform basic math problems
  • Surface Mount Technology (SMT) electronic component assembly
  • IPC-610 training/certification
  • Hot air rework station
  • Pneumatic solder paste
  • Electronic testing (DVM)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience performing detailed inspection
  • 1-2 years experience in hand placement and soldering in production
  • Understand job packet documentation (routings and Bills of Materials)
  • Basic electronic configuration recognition
  • ESD protection knowledge
  • Able to lift 25 lbs.
