Job description

Scientific Drilling is looking for a Manufacturing Assembler to work at our Applied Technologies Center in Paso Robles, CA.  Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide.  Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world.  We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems. 

Nestled between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the California Central Coast is the location described as the happiest place on earth.  Home to where others vacation, including 200+ wineries, fresh air, miles of beautiful beaches, and small town appeal. Our Manufacturing Assembler position will be working in our Manufacturing department.

The Manufacturing Assembler is expected to perform the essential duties listed below.  Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, welds, solders, epoxy, press fits or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets on printed circuit boards and chassis.
  • Connects component leads to printed circuit boards or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals and contact points using soldering procedures and equipment.
  • May perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device.
  • Performs on-line go-not-go testing and inspection, using magnifying devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment, to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Learns applicable IPC standards. Must successfully complete solder training course (company provided).

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of work experience required.
  • Soldering Experience required.
