As of Jun 8, 2026, the average hourly pay for microneedling in the United States is $76.10, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.38 and $192.31 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What does a typical day look like for someone performing microneedling treatments?

A typical day in a microneedling role involves preparing and sterilizing treatment rooms, consulting with clients to assess their skin concerns and contraindications, and performing microneedling procedures according to industry best practices. You’ll also be responsible for educating clients about aftercare, maintaining detailed treatment records, and sometimes recommending complementary skincare products or follow-up services. Collaboration is common with other estheticians, dermatologists, or clinic staff to ensure clients have a seamless experience and achieve the best results. This variety keeps the work engaging and allows you to build strong, lasting relationships with clients.

What is a Microneedling job?

A microneedling job involves performing skin rejuvenation treatments using a device with fine needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. This process stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving skin texture, reducing scars, and minimizing fine lines. Professionals performing microneedling are often estheticians, dermatologists, or trained beauty specialists. They must follow hygiene and safety protocols to ensure optimal results and client safety. Licensing and certification requirements vary by location.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Microneedling position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Microneedling professional, you need a solid understanding of skin anatomy, cosmetic procedures, and hands-on experience in clinical or spa environments, often supported by an esthetics or cosmetology license. Familiarity with professional microneedling devices, sterilization protocols, and associated skincare products is essential, and some states may require specific certifications for microneedling treatments. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain procedures and aftercare clearly help build client trust and satisfaction. These skills ensure treatments are performed safely, effectively, and in compliance with regulations, driving both client results and business success.
