Job description

This position is bond-eligible and is strictly limited to work associated with construction, modernization, and sustainability projects. Duties performed under this position shall not include routine maintenance, repair, or operational tasks that fall within the responsibilities of facilities Maintenance. The scope of this role is exclusively tied to bond-eligible activities such as planning, design, construction, commissioning, and related project management functions.
Duties Include:
Apply knowledge of Sustainable Building Principles and Standards to assist with complex systems level issues
Support energy master planning, carbon reduction, grid resiliency, and electrification
Apply knowledge of energy and environmental sustainability approaches, such as LEED credits, and its related impacts to operational efficiency.
Understand Title 24 and ASHRAE
Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams in conjunction with Project Managers, to meet project requirements and timelines.
Assist Teams with technical issues that require second opinions e. peer review of Request For Clarifications (RFC's), Change Orders, etc.
Traveling to and from project sites upon request of attending project and construction
Involvement in all parts of the project life cycle, to include master planning, design, construction, and closeout.
Perform electrical engineering analysis and technical reports supporting design
Ensure integration of LED lighting systems, PV, BESS, EV charging, microgrids, and smart
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of professional electrical engineering experience and consulting, with a focus on power systems design for facilities infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of California Energy Codes, Title 24 Energy Code, National Electrical Code (NEC), California Code of Regulations Part 11 (Cal Green Code) and applicable electrical engineering
  • 2 years' experience in Educational Facility Construction

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience and/or certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS).
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Electrical Engineering from a State Board in the U.S.
  • Minimum 2 years of DSA experience and/or similar jurisdiction.
