Job description

Rinvio is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer for battery energy storage systems, microgrids, and distributed energy resource integration work in the Long Beach, California area.


Pay: $115,000-$200,000/year, based on experience

Location: Long Beach, CA

Schedule: Full-time engineering/project support role; approximately 25% travel may be required

Type: Contract


Responsibilities:

- Lead electrical design for battery energy storage systems, microgrids, and distributed energy resource integrations

- Develop and review electrical designs, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, equipment specifications, and technical documentation

- Apply strong NEC knowledge to support safe, code-compliant electrical designs and installations

- Support hands-on panel design, controls interfaces, equipment coordination, and practical design execution

- Collaborate with engineering, project, vendor, and field teams through design, review, commissioning, and implementation phases

- Travel to project or site locations as needed, estimated around 25%


Requirements:

- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience

- Experience designing battery energy storage systems, microgrids, distributed energy resources, or related power systems

- Strong NEC knowledge and ability to apply code requirements to real project designs

- Hands-on panel design experience, including layout, component selection, and electrical documentation

- Ability to lead design work, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and support field/project execution

- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

- Comfort with approximately 25% travel

- Must be professional, detail-oriented, safety-minded, and able to complete any project onboarding requirements
