Job Title: Microelectronics Assembler

Job Description

This contract Microelectronics Assembler role offers an opportunity to work with advanced electronic products and systems in a hands-on production environment in Chelmsford, MA. You will assemble and test microelectronic components and sub-assemblies, using precision tools and equipment to meet strict quality standards. This position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, an interest in electronics, and a desire to grow their skills within a fast-paced, technology-driven setting. Candidates must be eligible to obtain an interim security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic components, sub-assemblies, and products by following detailed work instructions, drawings, and documented processes.
  • Use microscopes, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment to perform assembly and testing tasks while meeting quality requirements.
  • Read, interpret, and follow assembly process documentation and work instructions accurately and consistently.
  • Handle and assemble microscopic to larger components, using visual magnification tools when required.
  • Operate various hand tools such as tweezers, rulers, cutters, and pneumatic tools such as torque drivers and screwdrivers in a safe and precise manner.
  • Maintain accurate data entry and production records related to assembly and test processes.
  • Apply knowledge of ESD (electrostatic discharge) procedures to protect sensitive electronic components during handling and assembly.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve throughput, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to process enhancements.
  • Follow all applicable safety, quality, and production standards while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to assemble electronic components and sub-assemblies using hand tools and production equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate digital systems for timekeeping, accessing work instructions, and confirming tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Experience in mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, wiring, or soldering in a production environment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints or technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, including punctuality, reliability, and consistency in meeting commitments.
  • Desire and willingness to learn new skills and grow within a microelectronics manufacturing environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
