That's Perdue.SummaryThe purpose of this position is to provide supervision and coordinate activities of lab technicians in food microbiological testing laboratory as well as to perform critical testing needs.

This position requires leadership skills as it has no direct on-site supervision on a daily basis, making communication skills critical. The ability to multi-task in order to maintain a high level of productivity while ensuring accurate testing results is also crucial.Principal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMICRO HEALTH SRVCS-Perform microbiological testing, including pathogens, on incoming raw materials, spices, and finished products. Practice goodlaboratory procedures and aseptic techniques.Perform environmental testing from production areas.Maintain inventory of necessary supplies and equipment needed for testing.

Maintain laboratory equipment, perform calibrations and take care of other routine maintenance items.Report, distribute, and maintain lab records. Distribute results and keep accurate files. Keep record of controls and temperatures.Perform chemical analyses on cooking oil and product mixes, including, but not limited to, free fatty acids, fat and moisture.Purchase supplies and provide proper documentation for purchases.

Maintain inventory of necessary supplies and equipment needed for testing. Maintain laboratory equipment, perform calibrations and take care of other routine maintenance items.Report, distribute and maintain lab records using SAP and/or LIMS. Distribute results and keep accurate files.

Keep records of controls and temperatures.Coordinate and supervise other lab associates and work as liaison between offsite lab manager and local plant and other associates.Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Anything needing additional training will be provided by a trained and qualified individual.Minimum EducationREQUIRED: 4 year degree or 2 year degree and at least 2 years work experience in a medical, food, or other related laboratory environment. Strong written and communication skills are required as well as experience/fluency with Microsoft based programs.Experience Requirements4 years experience.Experience Preferred4 year degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry or relevant science.

Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsPosition is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.

May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
