About Atelier Crenn

Dominique Crenn opened Atelier Crenn, an ode to “poetic culinaria,” with her business partner Juan Contreras in January 2011. The restaurant achieved its first Michelin Star that same year and garnered a second the following year. In 2018, Atelier Crenn became the first female-led, US restaurant to receive three Michelin Stars. Since then, Chef Crenn’s flagship restaurant has evolved, now telling the story of California through food, highlighting local fish, seafood, and produce from its own regenerative farm in Sonoma.  


Main Role

The Pastry Prep Chef will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization standards within the pastry department and overall restaurant. They will learn, executive and maintain the quality and consistency of all menu items. They work alongside the Pastry chefs to produce all mise en place for dinner service.


Qualities Required:

  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate
  • Food Safety Knowledge
  • General knife handling
  • Kitchen Cleaning/Sanitation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have a desire to create desserts that reflect the Crenn mission statement 


Responsibilities:

  • Arrive on time for the scheduled shift and wear clean and appropriate work attire.  
  • Prepare mise en place alongside pastry Sous Chef until service begins.
  • Set up pastry station with all mise en place and side-work needed to work efficiently.
  • Properly care for equipment and all workstations.
  • Explore and listen to ideas that will reduce waste and increase sustainability.
  • Ensure proper sanitation and personal hygiene are maintained.
  • Ensure that the kitchen is always prepared for routine health inspection and following guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen, dish, and garbage areas.
