Mental Health Technician (Floor MHT - Psychiatric & Substance Use Disorder Facility)

Location: 4770 Larimer Parkway, Johnstown, Colorado
Schedule: Full-Time, 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights/Weekends available)

Pay Range: $18 - $24

Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, patient-focused Mental Health Technician to support daily operations on our inpatient psychiatric units. As an essential member of the care team, you will work directly with patients to ensure safety, reinforce therapeutic goals, and assist in providing high-quality treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient safety, behavior, and engagement throughout the unit
  • Provide support with daily activities, including hygiene, meals, and movement around the unit
  • Assist with crisis intervention and use approved de-escalation techniques when necessary
  • Conduct routine safety checks and environmental rounds
  • Accurately document observations, patient interactions, and changes in behavior
  • Support group programming, therapeutic activities, and patient education
  • Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Escort patients to appointments or activities as directed
  • Uphold all hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in psychology or related fields preferred
  • Previous experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, or healthcare settings is helpful but not required
