Assistant Director of Mental Health Technician (MHT) Services

Michiana Behavioral Health is dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment that helps patients restore their health and get a fresh start. Located in Plymouth, Indiana, in a rejuvenating wooded setting, Michiana Behavioral Health provides each patient with comprehensive behavioral health treatment from compassionate and caring staff. Our leadership is committed to making sure every patient in our care receives high-quality care that gets them back on track at school, work, and home.

The Assistant Director of MHT Services, in collaboration with the Director of MHT Services provides oversight, consultation, training, monitoring, and mentoring of acute and residential nursing units in therapeutic milieu management. Milieu management includes de-escalation and physical management, environmental management, and staff competency. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Ensure staff members deliver care in accordance with the Standards of Care and Practice.
  • Deliver effective on-boarding and orientation for new Skill Leaders and Mental Health Technicians.
  • Assist in coordination of monthly unit meetings.
  • Assist in on-going training for seasoned staff.
  • Flexes into inpatient staffing when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred but will consider experience.
  • Experience working with children and adolescent's a plus.
  • One - three years experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
