As an MFLC, your workweek usually involves providing short-term, non-medical counseling services to military service members, families, and children in a variety of settings such as bases, schools, or on-site events. You may conduct individual, group, or family sessions, facilitate workshops, and offer crisis intervention as needed. Much of the role centers on outreach and building rapport with the military community to make support services accessible. Collaboration with military leadership and other support professionals is common, ensuring holistic care for clients. While some flexibility is required, MFLCs generally maintain regular weekday hours with occasional evening or weekend commitments based on client needs.
