Armed Security Guard

Armed Security Guard Job Description Summary/Objective The Armed Security Guard is responsible for providing professional armed security services at assigned client locations through active patrol, monitoring, incident response, and enforcement of company and client policies. This role maintains a visible security presence to deter criminal activity, protect people and property, and respond appropriately to emergencies and disturbances. Officers are expected to demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, discipline, alertness, confidentiality, and strong interpersonal communication at all times while carrying a firearm and representing Denver Metro Security, Inc. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Maintain a visible and professional armed security presence to deter criminal activity, unauthorized activity, and policy violations Conduct foot patrols and/or vehicle patrols of assigned properties and client locations Monitor buildings, grounds, parking areas, and access points for safety and security concerns Observe, identify, and report suspicious activity, hazards, damages, and policy violations Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, accidents, and incidents Enforce client rules, company policies, post orders, and applicable laws within assigned authority Utilize verbal communication and de-escalation techniques to manage confrontational situations whenever possible Safely carry, secure, retain, and operate company-approved firearms and required duty equipment Engage in physical intervention or defensive tactics when authorized and necessary Request assistance from law enforcement, emergency medical services, or supervisors when appropriate Complete accurate and timely Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports, and other required documentation Document patrol activity, incidents, observations, and investigations using company-approved systems Immediately report significant incidents, injuries, use-of-force situations, equipment concerns, and client issues to supervisors Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations, client information, incidents, and investigations Follow all company policies, procedures, training requirements, and use-of-force standards Maintain all required certifications, firearm qualifications, and licensing requirements for armed security work Report to duty on time, properly uniformed, mentally alert, and fit for duty Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, tact, neutrality, and discipline while interacting with clients, coworkers, and the public Follow the established chain of command and carry out lawful and ethical instructions from supervisors Safely operate company patrol vehicles while complying with all motor vehicle laws and company driving requirements Report vehicle accidents, citations, damages, and driving incidents immediately to management Work assigned schedules, including overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as operational needs require Maintain open availability for full-time scheduling considerations Accept reassignment to different posts, patrol assignments, or client sites based on operational needs Competencies Situational awareness Professional communication skills Conflict resolution and de-escalation Sound judgment and decision-making Integrity and confidentiality Accountability and dependability Attention to detail Customer service orientation Emotional control and restraint Adaptability and flexibility Report writing and documentation skills Time management and punctuality Ability to follow instructions and chain of command Emergency response preparedness Defensive tactics and firearm safety awareness Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibility. Officers may work independently or alongside other security personnel.
