Job description

Perianesthesia/PACU RN

Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Perianesthesia/PACU RN to join our Perianesthesia team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary:

The RN – Perianesthesia/PACU position manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons, care givers, groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care. This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to, Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.

This position is to work throughout Perianesthesia Department, to include Pre-Procedure Assessment, Pre-op, Phase I, Phase II, and Extended Recovery.

Work Schedule:

  • Casual Position
  • Will need to meet requirements of casual MNA nurse.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a school of nursing; minimum of Associate degree/Diploma in Nursing required.
  • New grads not considered.
  • Hospital PACU experience in the last 2 years
  • ICU, Critical Care, Emergency Center experience required within the last five years.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
  • Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License
  • BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines
  • Must have ACLS on start date
  • Must have PALS within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPAN or CAPA certification preferred.
