Job description

Job Title: Powertrain Calibration Technical Expertise & Methods Engineer
Job Location: Chelsea, MI
Job Duration: 3 months, Contract to Hire
Job Summary:
  • Generate calibration release requests daily for offshore team.
  • Support offshore team with any questions regarding report generation. (SharePoint, Cal Database Tool)
  • Review/support/resolve open calibration validation requests and work with calibrators to close out.
  • Support calibration release and compliance process and tools development.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements and work with offshore to develop and execute.
  • Support calibration department methodology process development. (SharePoint, PowerBI, PowerAutomate, etc.)
  • Triage/debug/fix calibration or validation tools. (Matlab, python, .NET, VBA, etc.)
Areas of Focus
  • Diesel/Gasoline emission control.
  • Particle filter / SCR.
  • Diesel combustion noise, Knock.
  • Drivability.
  • Gasoline engine bench.
  • Engine Onboard Diagnostic, Safety Diagnostics
  • Engine control hardware / Software.
Qualifications:
  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace) and IC in electrical, mechanical or controls engineering or equivalent.
  • Leadership experience 1+ years
  • 3+ years propulsion system calibration experience OR
  • 3+ Coding and database architecture experience. Python, Matlab, .NET, VBA (Excel macro), etc…
  • Proficient in MS Office and other MS products (SharePoint, Teams, Visio, Project, PowerBI, PowerAutomate, etc.)
  • Proficient skills in Inca, MDA, Creta, Concerto, Optisim work environments.
  • High level of proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
