Job Description

EBAD is seeking aProduct Engineerwith experience working in a manufacturing environment. The Product Engineer will be responsible for evaluating designs for manufacturability and leading development of new products into production. Candidate will have key areas of expertise in analyzing user requirements, mechanical design, tool design, and manufacturing cell layout.

Responsibilities:

This position supports and reports directly to the Product Engineering Lead.The Product Engineer (PE) is the technical lead on internal and external projects and is responsible for all technical and schedule aspects of the project/product throughout the production life cycle. Primary duties include:

  • Development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation (including manufacturing instructions, routings, process specifications and tooling) as well as product testing requirements and methods.
  • Providing continuity during transitions from proposals to production by acting as the main technical liaison between the customer and EBAD.
  • Solving manufacturing problems, investigating process failures and implementing corrective actions
  • Coordination with other departments to ensure the production viability of new designs, creation of the required documentation, and internal and customer approval of documentation.
  • Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.
  • Implementation of Lean methodologies including standard work, point of use tooling, material presentation and process improvements.
  • Development of automated test fixtures and assembly tools
  • Development of layouts of manufacturing cell design including tooling, machinery and equipment.
  • Creation of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Technical compliance and risk assessment
  • Creating standard work and contributing to manufacturing cell planning
  • Tracking status and ensuring completion of operations milestones and tasks for production programs

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering and manufacturing or related engineering experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies. Additionally, it is desired that the candidate has experience in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and systems
  • CAD, 3-D modeling, assembly creation, drawings and GD&T.
  • Design of tooling and fixtures
  • Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • Formal problem analysis and resolution
  • Project management skills with the ability to document, plan, and execute programs
  • Working with aerospace products and processes.
  • Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing practices
  • Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) systems.
  • MS Office- Excel, Word and Powerpoint.Familiar with and able to work in MS Project.
