Job description

DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
The General Labor team supports daily operations within a metals recycling and processing facility. This role is responsible for handling, sorting, and processing scrap metal materials, with a primary focus on torch operation - cutting over-size material to customer and facility specifications for further preparation and shipping. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in an industrial setting with heavy materials and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Sort, inspect, and separate scrap metal materials by type and grade
  • Identify and remove contaminants or non-conforming materials
  • Load and unload materials using hand tools or equipment
  • Operate torches to cut over-size material to customer and facility specifications; assist with additional processing machinery
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
  • Support inventory control and material tracking as needed
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals

Shift Information
  • Full-Time
  • Monday-Friday
  • 2nd Shift (2:00 pm -10:30 pm)

Qualifications
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, standing, bending)
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
  • Willingness to complete several months of on-the-job training across facility categories
  • Basic mechanical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent (preferred)

Work Environment
This position operates in a metals recycling facility that processes titanium using specialized equipment and technology.
