Job description

Your Day-to-Day Impact

You’ll play a vital role in our (department) team by:

  • Work safely and comply with all company safety policies, procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. 
  • Collect, identify and torch-cut product samples in accordance with established sampling requirements. 
  • Safely operate cutting torches and associated equipment to obtain required test samples from tubular products. 
  • Cut, machine and prepare test specimens using laboratory equipment and machinery. 
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, machinery and tooling in accordance with established procedures. 
  • Develop proficiency in laboratory testing methods and equipment through on-the-job training and demonstrated competency. 
  • Perform routine housekeeping and 5S activities to maintain a clean and safe working environment. 
  • Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives within the laboratory 

What You Bring

We’re looking for candidates who are sharp, safety-focused, and ready to roll up their sleeves:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred. 
  • Previous manufacturing experience a plus. 
  • Forklift Operator experience preferred. 
  • Overhead Crane operating experience preferred. 
  • Must successfully complete required company and job-specific safety and equipment training. 
  • Experience with torch cutting and tubular steel products preferred. 
  • Ability to safely work around heavy steel samples and laboratory equipment. 
  • CNC machining/ operator experience preferred. 
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of the team. 
  • Ability to accurately follow API, ASTM, ISO, customer and company procedures. 
  • Ability to recognize abnormal equipment conditions and communicate concerns appropriately. 
  • Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions and specifications and safety requirements. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate test records and product traceability.
