Laboratory Technician
Pay rate: $20.00
JOB DUTIES
  • Collecting samples, including collection from rail cars or trucks in some locations
  • Preparing samples for analysis using established testing and techniques
  • Assisting with and/or performing routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting
  • Maintaining laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Relieve & log in samples
  • Micronize and mount Samples for XRD analyses
  • Weigh samples
  • Dry samples
  • Mount & scan samples for NIR analyses
  • Pulverize samples (mill)
  • Prep samples for CEC analyses
  • Particle size analyses on Daily production samples
  • Sample storage
  • Locate Samples
  • All other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of mathematics, chemistry, and computer skills
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site
  • Must have availability to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overtime as requested
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Must possess and display strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and practice independent judgment
  • Must be able to interact successfully with all levels of staff, clients, and vendors
  • Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Must be able to pass Reference Check, Background Check, MVR Check and Drug Screen

ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, reflective vest, hearing protection, work gloves, respirator, long-sleeved shirt and any other PPE as needed.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
