Job description

Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Materials Lab Supervisor. This position will be located at our Euclid, OH facility.

The Materials Lab Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision of the Euclid Aerospace Materials Lab. This individual will lead the materials lab team in meeting all internal and external requirements for laboratory procedures. This role will ensure compliance to all applicable NADCAP, AS9100, FAA, and customer driven quality system requirements to maintain lab operations. This individual will ensure all lab supplies and capital equipment are acquired to meet the needs of the materials lab.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:
  • Direct all laboratory personnel to ensure completion of customer requirements.
  • Continually manage the alignment of work load determining the optimal assignments and efficiency meeting business demands.
  • Ensure that required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to meet customer, system, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Assure that policies, procedures, and other documentation are followed to ensure consistent and compliant manufactured product.
  • Provide leadership and commitment in support of continuing improvements in quality, productivity and delivery performance.
  • Assure that Environmental, Health, and Safety issues are addressed considering local regulations, Eaton policy, and good corporate citizenship.
  • Evaluate operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, commendations, and improvements.
  • Specify job assignments for laboratory personnel, and monitor performance, to achieve product delivery and cost requirements.
  • Coordinate and assist with laboratory initiatives, participate on teams in order to drive best practices across manufacturing.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, modify, or replace laboratory capabilities with capital acquisitions.
  • Ensure continuous compliance to NADCAP and other application regulatory and quality systems certifications.
  • Manage training execution and documentation for the lab personnel.
  • Meet external and internal customer lead times and provide accurate quoting.
Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry or other related engineering field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a Materials Science manufacturing support environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of Euclid, OH will be considered. Active‑Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in SEM, radiographic analysis, metallurgy, chemistry and/or microscopy.
  • Experience in Aerospace or other highly regulated quality systems.
Skills:
  • Thorough understanding of lean manufacturing technologies and processes.

This position is classified as a safety‑sensitive role under applicable U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. As a condition of employment, candidates must successfully complete a DOT‑required pre‑employment drug test.
