Job Description
Are you a mechanically inclined problem-solver who takes pride in driving equipment performance and product quality? Avery Dennison is hiring a Machine Operator to lead machine setups, changeovers, and operations across our metalizer and finishing equipment. You will play a critical role in troubleshooting, maintaining high quality standards, and keeping production running safely and efficiently.
Shift: Shift, M-F 2:45p-11p
Starting Hiring Rate: $25.09/hr & $2/hr shift differential
What You'll Do
  • Operate & Adjust: Lead setups and operation of metalizing and finishing machinery (rewinders, sheeters, levers). Monitor gauges, speeds, and temperatures to adhere to process specifications.
  • Quality & Inspection: Perform routine product testing using precision tools, log production data, and troubleshoot issues to identify root causes.
  • Material Handling & Safety: Load raw materials, unload finished goods, and safely operate lift trucks (ability to lift up to 50 lbs required).
  • Teamwork & Growth: Partner with department team members to meet production goals, maintain a clean workspace, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
What You'll Need
  • High School Diploma/GED OR 3+ years of manufacturing experience (3-5 years preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and basic computer skills (MFG Pro / ERP systems preferred).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, earn a Forklift Certification, and work overtime as needed.
  • Safety-first mindset, collaborative attitude, and a desire to cross-train and grow.

Preferred Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing in a similar production environment.
  • Strong shipping/receiving system usage and understanding.
  • Track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Project Management and Time Management skills.
  • Track record of implementing Lean manufacturing processes.
