Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on stamping dies used in progressive, tandem, and stand-alone press operations

  • Diagnose tooling issues such as wear, misalignment, breakage, or dimensional concerns

  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble tooling components including punches, dies, lifters, and guide systems

  • Perform die spotting, adjustments, and tryouts to ensure proper functionality

  • Support die changeovers and provide technical assistance to production teams when tooling issues arise

  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on dies and tooling components

  • Operate toolroom equipment such as grinders, mills, lathes, and other precision machining equipment as needed

  • Read and interpret blueprints, tooling prints, and engineering specifications

  • Ensure tooling meets quality standards and part specifications

  • Maintain accurate documentation related to tooling repairs and maintenance activities

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase die performance and reduce downtime

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S standards

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Qualifications
  • Experience working with metal stamping dies and tooling preferred

  • Knowledge of progressive, tandem, and stand-alone stamping press operations

  • Ability to read and interpret tooling prints and blueprints

  • Experience with toolroom machining equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in an automotive metal stamping environment

  • Tool & Die apprenticeship or equivalent technical training

  • Experience with die maintenance, spotting, and tryout processes
