Requirements:
  • Assisting Sheet Metal Mechanic in the fabricating assemblies and systems in the workshop according to work provided by the Shop foreman using hand tools, portable power tools and other specialized equipment
  • Assist inspecting assemblies and installation work for conformance with plans, specifications, and trade standards, using naked eye as well as measuring instruments ,such as measuring tape ,rule, plumb bob or level
  • Assist sheet metal shop mechanic with routine fabrication with direct oversight and on-site assistance
  • Assist sheet metal shop mechanic with operation of fabrication equipment such as coil-line, plasma table, breaks, drive machines, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Take inventory of stocked materials and consumables such as sheet metal, conduits, connectors and damper assemblies.
  • Cut materials for fabrication using a chop saw and tape measure.
  • Help setup/operate soldering and welding equipment, fabricating machines,
  • Fabricate metal duct and accessories.
  • Cut and fabricate fiberglass duct and fittings
  • Measure ,size ,cut and apply duct insulation
  • Accept and perform other work as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
  • The qualified candidate will have one to three months of commercial sheet metal shop experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong communication skills and able to follow instructions
  • Knowledge of the proper use of safety equipment
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must be able to climb and balance on ladders, stand/ or sit for long periods at a time, must not have fear of heights, among others
  • Valid Florida driver's license
