Job description

Project Estimator

Wald Wire is looking for a Project Estimator to join our metal fabrication team at our 20th Avenue facility in Oshkosh. The Project Estimator is responsible for gathering information from internal and external sources to prepare accurate and timely customer quotations. This position reviews customer prints, 3D models, specifications, and work instructions to determine whether projects fit our production capabilities and to calculate expected material, labor, production, tooling, and outside-processing costs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with technical information, interpreting blueprints, performing detailed calculations, and balancing multiple quote requests and deadlines. Previous metal fabrication or manufacturing experience is strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, product drawings, and technical specifications. Knowledge of metal fabrication processes, capabilities, and equipment. Strong mathematical and Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize assignments, manage multiple quote requests, and adapt to changing deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Confident problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with production, management, customers, and suppliers. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, FTP sites, cloud-based systems, or business-processing software is preferred.
