Job description

Meta is seeking a product-focused strategist to join its Product Policy team as a Product Policy Manager. In this role, you will provide direct policy counsel to product and engineering teams as they launch new products and features. You’ll achieve this by collaborating with a range of cross-functional stakeholders, including policy, product, legal, communications, design, and marketing teams.Successful candidates will have expertise in emerging technologies and policy work, with a deep understanding of the technology policy and regulatory landscape, including industry trends. They will also effectively prioritize and manage competing workstreams in a dynamic environment and share our vision of building the future of human connection through transformative technology.
Product Policy Manager Responsibilities:
  • Provide policy guidance to product and engineering partners that protects and promotes free expression, while minimizing business risks and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory and policy environments
  • Create clear risk assessments and build scalable frameworks to operationalize a consistent set of mitigations across a broad range of products
  • Work with product managers, software engineers, designers, lawyers, and others to help product teams address policy, legal, engineering, user interface, business, and marketing considerations
  • Provide policy guidance to internal stakeholders on issues related to Meta’s products and features
  • Act as an escalation point of contact and manage internal communications for policy issues

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, policy, law, communications, computer science or related field
  • 8+ years of work experience in policy, enforcement, law, government, or operations, with an emphasis on technology
  • Experience working with product or technical teams
  • Experience in Internet/social media, with a focus on policy issues
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with consensus-building, persuasive communication and managing multi-stakeholder projects

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or PhD in political science, policy, computer science or Law Degree
  • Experience in adversarial simulation and red-teaming methodologies
  • Proficiency in crafting formal policy documentation for a wide-ranging audience
  • Experience managing incident response or escalations
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Experience advising on AI technologies and other online products and platforms in a product policy role
  • Experience articulating policies and their reasoning to various audiences effectively
  • Experience working at a Tech Company
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience communicating policy recommendations to product managers, engineers, researchers, and executives
