Your Day to Day as a Met Lab Engineer 1:
  • Provides technical support for lab personnel, processes, and inspection equipment.
  • Provides technical documentation/reports.
  • Interfaces with both internal and external customers.
  • Supports a project team, communicating status of any technical or production issues.
  • Assists with development and implementation of new or improved inspection techniques.
  • Creates and revises procedures, forms, and submittals.
  • Assists with quoting for future work scopes.
  • Maintains and trends on inspection data and key product attributes.
  • Maintains cognizance over assigned area/process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Must have demonstratable skills and knowledge in using and understanding contract technical requirements.
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail in order to successfully multi-task.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Material Science degree from an ABET Accredited Institution is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
  • Prior experience with NOG-L Quality Systems, EtQ docQnet, Solumina, and SmartForms is a plus.

Pay: $77,000 - $116,000
The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $77,000 and $116,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
