Position Overview

We are seeking an Application Support Engineer to lead the deployment and configuration of our Siemens MOM (Manufacturing Operations Management) platform. This role is centered on building and managing the AWS infrastructure required to host the application suite. You will be the technical lead responsible for the interface between the application, the SQL backend, and the cloud environment. The work location will be Liberty, North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical:

Siemens MOM Deployment: Lead the end-to-end installation and technical configuration of Siemens Opcenter/MOM components in a high-availability AWS environment.

Database & SQL Management: Install and optimize Microsoft SQL Server for the MOM backend. This includes managing relational schemas, executing performance tuning, and ensuring robust backup/recovery protocols.

Systems Troubleshooting: Act as the window for complex issues involving application performance, SQL connectivity, or cloud infrastructure bottlenecks.

2. Cross-functional Team Collaboration:

Participate in cross-functional meetings to align with system architecture and performance goals.

Prioritize against engaged priorities and collaborate across IT teams and internal business teams to deliver on business objectives.

3. Documentation and Reporting:

? Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for a production line IT system.

Generate reports on daily activities, system performances and meetings

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Application Expertise: Hands-on experience with Siemens MOM / Opcenter or similar enterprise-scale Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

AWS Infrastructure: Deep knowledge of AWS core services, specifically VPC networking, Security Groups, and EBS storage optimization.

Database Proficiency: Strong Microsoft SQL and PostgreSQL Server skills, including the ability to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues under heavy production loads.

Network Fundamentals: Clear understanding of enterprise networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing) required to coordinate with specialized network groups.

 Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

 Process Knowledge: Experience working in regulated or high-compliance environments where Change Management and documentation are strictly enforced.

Communication: Ability to bridge the gap between "Shop Floor" needs and "Cloud IT" requirements through clear, professional coordination.

Automation Tools: Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and a solid understanding of CI/CD concepts (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline) is plus.
