Position Overview

The Vogel Lab, currently based at New York University, will move to Merrimack College in Fall 2026. This is an opportunity to join the vibrant Boston-area research community, with strong links to the biotech industry, while also becoming part of Merrimack College’s growing research enterprise. Dr. Vogel’s research group is seeking to fill 1–2 postdoctoral researcher positions in the area of protein expression regulation during proteotoxic stress in the context of neurodegenerative diseases.


The Vogel Lab has published extensively in the fields of proteomics and systems biology and is now expanding into translation regulation (see Cell Reports 2024, Nature 2025, BioRxiv 2023). Planned projects use a range of molecular biology approaches to characterize specific pathways involved in disease. Current work includes studying translation regulation of genes implicated in neurodegeneration (BioRxiv 2025); applicants are also encouraged to bring in their own ideas.


Dr. Vogel is committed to providing strong mentoring and career support. Merrimack College also offers postdoctoral researchers opportunities to gain teaching experience.

Qualifications:
