Job description

Radiology Tech - Meritus Ortho
Full Time | 8am-4:30pm
$5,000 Sign-On Bonus

At Meritus Health’s Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic, imaging plays a critical role in diagnosis, treatment planning, and recovery. As a Radiologic Technologist in this specialized setting, you’ll perform diagnostic imaging procedures focused on musculoskeletal conditions for patients of all ages. You’ll work closely with orthopedic providers to deliver high-quality radiographs that support timely, accurate care in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

This role is ideal for a technologist who values precision, patient interaction, and collaborative care. You’ll apply advanced imaging techniques, maintain equipment, and ensure a smooth experience for patients navigating orthopedic concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols

  • Operate and maintain digital radiography equipment with competence and care

  • Prepare exam rooms, organize supplies, and clean radiographic areas to ensure readiness and safety

  • Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures clearly, and assist other staff members as needed

  • Obtain and document clinical information from patients accurately

  • Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting any unusual occurrences immediately

  • Record pertinent patient information in QA logs, electronic systems, and reports

  • Serve as a resource to other staff, offering guidance and support as needed

  • Assist with outpatient medical assisting duties (e.g., vitals, medical history documentation) when appropriate and after demonstrated competency

  • Uphold Meritus Health’s values of compassion, excellence, integrity, and collaboration in every interaction

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Completion of an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent required

Experience

  • One year of experience as a radiographer preferred

Licensure/Certification

  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required

  • Licensure by the State of Maryland as a Radiologic Technologist required

  • Current BLS (CPR) certification in compliance with Meritus Health policy

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in radiographic techniques and digital imaging equipment

  • Strong understanding of anatomy, positioning, and radiation safety principles

  • Ability to prepare and administer contrast medications safely

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment

  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
