For over 40 years, Mercy Ships has been delivering lasting hope and healing through safe surgical care, while working alongside partners and stakeholders to strengthen local healthcare systems in more than 55 countries. Since the inception of this dream by founders Don and Deyon Stephens in 1978, Mercy Ships has served more than 2.7 million direct beneficiaries without regard for race, gender, or religion.

**Compensation Range for This Position Is $20 - $23/HR.
This is a part time, 10 hour per week ON-SITE position in Lindale, Texas.
This position may require working off shifts and weekends.
This role is responsible to assist Global Security Director, Regional Security Director, Maritime Security Director and the ISC Security Manager in overseeing Security Operations for Mercy Ships. This role will assist in Policy and Procedure development, implementation, and training. Assist team members with Microix for contracts and vendor payments. Assist with Security Risk Assessments at the ISC.
How You'll Contribute
  • Assist with Security Risk Assessment.
  • Engage with the community in meetings or other types of communication, encouraging an atmosphere and awareness of security.
  • Create a security presence during onboarding or other events, which might require the need for a visual presence of enhanced security.
  • Assist the ISC Security Manager and Program Security Officer with Microix for contracts and vendor payments.
  • Maintain the ISC Situation Room in a full-time ready state, in the event of an emergency.
  • Assist the ISC Security Manager Develop a plan for a security office at the entrance of the ISC and assist in implementing.
  • Assist the ISC Security Manager with all the duties on the campus.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Security Risk Assessments: Experienced in conducting SRA and ability to identify Risk.
  • Create an atmosphere and awareness of security by engaging with the community.
  • Monitor policy and procedures to identify changes or processes that need to be updated.
  • Maintain an awareness of global activities and be aware of how it might affect various Mercy Ship locations.
  • Conduct security inspections around the ISC property.
  • Review Security Policy and Procedures, edit and update as needed.
  • Assist with investigations of any losses, threats, or breaches at the ISC.
  • Write a comprehensive security report.
  • Maintains utmost confidentiality and discretion.
  • Supportive of Mercy Ships mission and vision and committed to its core values.
  • Promotes a culture that is conducive to effective relationships among diverse team members.
  • Interpret and communicate information, ideas, and instructions clearly, accurately, and persuasively both verbally and in writing.

Administrative:
  • Organize meetings by assisting with invitations, and agendas.
  • Experienced with Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Assist with annual department budget.
  • Understand and apply servant leadership, work collaboratively with integrity and demonstrate accountability.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or an accredited certificate, preferably in Security Management, Social Sciences, Law, Disaster Management, or related field.
  • Two years of professional experience working in security management, assessments, law enforcement, or military service.
  • Experience in operating in difficult circumstances and stressful conditions
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively present information in written reports, visual presentations, and verbal reports.
  • Able to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work to meet scheduled commitments.
