Responsibilities

The Simulation Operations Specialist supports the daily operations and educational activities of the Mercy Medical Center Simulation Lab. This role ensures that simulation, extended reality (XR), classroom, skills lab, and in situ learning environments are operationally ready, technically reliable, and supportive of high-quality clinical education. Working under the Simulation Lab Director within the Center for Clinical Excellence, the Specialist assists clinical educators in implementing simulation-based and immersive learning activities, including ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, mock codes, onboarding programs, skills validation, and department-based training initiatives. This position serves as a resource, supporting educational activities across multiple departments within Mercy Medical Center.


Requirements
  • Healthcare experience with foundational knowledge of clinical practices and patient care processes.
  • Demonstrated comfort with technology and willingness to learn simulation systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-fidelity simulation, in situ training, or VR platforms.
  • Experience supporting ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, or other resuscitation training programs.
  • Instructor certification in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and/or NRP is an asset but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
