Medical ICU Nurse

  • Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues.
  • Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices.
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
  • Utilizes SBAR format tool to notify physicians, and other providers of clinical findings, performs nurse-to-nurse report at the bedside.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Diploma and One (1) year RN experience., upon hire and
  • BSN, upon hire and
  • ADN, upon hire or
  • Foreign Equivalent, upon hire and
  • Registered Nurse: AZ, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months

Preferred

  • One year medical/surgical intensive care experience.

Located in the Phoenix, Ariz., suburb of Gilbert, the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, is a 198-bed, not-for profit hospital with more than 1,300 team members and almost 900 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. In 2014, Phoenix Children's Hospital launched a 22-bed pediatric unit inside the hospital. Mercy Gilbert opened in 2006 and has been a vital part of the growing community. Today it is the fifth largest employer in Gilbert. During the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, Mercy Gilbert provided more than $24 million in community benefit. As a result of Dignity Health's mission to deliver health care and partner with the community, more than 42,000 people in the East Valley were reached through community health services.
