We are currently looking for a passionate R&D Scientist to join our BioMonitoring R&D team at our Laclede facility in St. Louis, MO with expertise in Applied Microbiology. The BioMonitoring R&D organization develops innovative solutions for our customers: microbiology quality-control laboratories in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. In this role, you will play a crucial part in expanding our food pathogen diagnostics portfolio, supporting development projects, and contributing to our BioMonitoring strategy. As a member of our global cross-functional team, you will have the opportunity to help drive innovative projects, analyze data, and engage in scientific discussions. Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree or Ph. D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology or other life science field with 3+ years of professional Biotechnology industry experience
  • 1+ years' experience in development, optimization, validation and launch of diagnostic tools or assays
  • 1+ years' experience in Growth, Isolation and Identification of Bacterial Pathogens

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in immunochemistry or similar techniques for ensuring high specificity and sensitivity in pathogen detection assays
  • Experience in diagnostic assay development for the detection of microorganisms in a food&bev or pharma sector
  • Experience developing protocols for automation of process workflows
  • Experience working with the following pathogens in various food products: Listeria, Salmonella, Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC), Cronobacter spp., Bacillus spp.
  • Experience in industrial microbiology in the food, beverage, and water sectors Experience in organizing validation according to ISO 16140
  • Experience in project leadership/management
  • Demonstrated capacities to analyze data, write reports, and prepare and deliver technical presentations
  • Collaboration with cross-functional subject matter experts, project teams, and a variety of external business partners and network of consultants to advance projects
  • Strong motivation, attention to detail and ability to think independently and fully integrate into a high achieving team environment
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills in a diverse and collaborative local and global team environment

RSREMD
Pay Range for this position: $68,200-$132,200/year
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
