This is where YOU fit in: the Navy Exchange is in need of a Vending Warehouse Worker to answer the call; a team player who is dedicated to supporting our local Naval community, and operational successes on a day to day basis. You will perform a variety of tasks which involve the receiving, storing, and inventory within the vending warehouse backroom for all of the Navy Exchange Vending team. Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our Military patrons and their families. So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed? o Unloads loads vehicles checks incoming shipments for spoilage or damage o Receives invoice from vendor on merchandise ordered checks against report of goods received RGR to ensure items and quantity ordered are received o Responsible for pulling product and staging loading onto vending trucks Micro Market routes to minimize driver downtime. o Conducts monthly inventory of merchandise supplies. o Operates motor vehicle in the performance of the duties. Is required to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance and carry short distances heavier material will be transported by forklift equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed indoors and outdoors. The area may be cold drafty damp or hot. Is exposed to the possibility of injury such as exposure to cuts bruises lacerations from falling or dropping stock from handling materials and from mechanical equipment. TRAINING REQUIREMENT Associate must receive Hazardous Material HazMat training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations. May be required to obtain and maintain a forklift license. JOB REQUIREMENTS 1. Must possess a valid state driver s license or a valid commercial driver s license CDL . 2. Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to operate a motor vehicle safely. 3. Must be able to pass appropriate background checks needed for the specific area of responsibility e.g. Federal DOD Security Clearance etc. . 4. Pass the GSA defensive driving course Qualifications: Qualifications - External Total of two 2 year's experience consisting of the following GENERAL EXPERIENCE One 1 year of experience that provided the applicant with knowledge and skill to carry out basic retail services selling duties. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR GENERAL EXPERIENCE One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE One 1 year of experience that provided the applicant with the knowledge and skill to perform various duties involving stocking merchandise transfers receiving merchandising of product and or food handling processes within a retail or services environment
