Blast Laborer

Location: Based in Las Vegas, NV; St. George, UT; Hurricane, UT; and Henderson, NV (Lakemoor Project). Travel to job sites is required.

3-Rivers Drilling & Blasting has 65+ years of combined drilling and blasting experience and has served the Western U.S. since 1997. We are known for safe, accurate, and professional work, and we are fully licensed and properly insured and bonded for every project we take on.

We are hiring a full-time Blast Laborer to support blast-hole loading operations and field blasting work across job sites in Nevada and Utah. This role is ideal for someone with prior blasting or blast-hole loading experience who takes safety seriously, works well in outdoor conditions, and can maintain production standards while following established procedures.

This position may include assignments on both standard-rate and prevailing wage projects, depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong focus on the safety of yourself and coworkers
  • Support blasting operations from start to finish
  • Correctly load ANFO to designed load heights
  • Properly stem blast holes
  • Tie and time blast patterns as designed
  • Understand differences between explosive products and their applications
  • Install air decks as designed
  • Follow directions from supervisors and project leaders
  • Accurately complete daily digital paperwork
  • Recognize ground conditions and understand how they affect blasting operations
  • Maintain high production levels, including while working independently
  • Contribute to team productivity goals
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance
  • Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections
  • Work outdoors in inclement weather and rugged terrain

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of blasting or blast-hole loading experience
  • OSHA 10 certification required
  • Must be able to pass an ATF background check
  • Valid driver's license with a strong driving record
  • Ability to travel or relocate to job sites as needed
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and work outdoors in varying and remote conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Strong safety mindset and professional attitude

Pay and Benefits

  • Full-time employment
  • Standard project pay: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
  • Prevailing wage project pay: up to $66.27 per hour, including applicable fringe benefits, when assigned to qualifying prevailing wage work sites. (The rest goes by the standard 20-25)
  • Employees are paid according to the wage rate applicable to the project they are assigned to
