Summary of Job Duties:The Senior Project Manager (Senior Strategy Associate) serves as a key member of the UAMS Office of Strategy and supports enterprise strategy execution under the direction of the Chief Strategy Officer. The position manages implementation of the ASPIRE 2033 strategic plan and enterprise Balanced Scorecard; administers the ClearPoint Strategy platform; guides development of aligned cascade scorecards; coordinates cross-functional strategic initiatives; and provides the analytics, facilitation, reporting, and communications needed to advance institutional priorities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, finance, accounting, project management, business administration, or a related field plus six (6) years of project or program/project management experience, including experience with executive-level communications and presentations.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to learn a new platform (ClearPoint Strategy) and become a Super-User.

  • Strong institutional knowledge and understanding of UAMS policies, objectives, and mission.

  • Ability to think quickly and adjust to changes in project direction; manage multiple priorities; determine solutions; and formulate recommendations.

  • Strong oral, written, and listening skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and the general public.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and as part of a larger team under strict deadlines, exercising sound judgment and discretion.

  • Maturity, integrity, and the ability to handle confidential information in a strictly private manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in public health, finance, accounting, project management, business administration, or a related field.

  • Experience writing grants and knowledge of objectives and partnerships between UAMS and external organizations.


Responsibilities:

  • Works at the direction and delegation of the Chief Strategy Officer to support implementation and execution of ASPIRE 2033 and related institutional strategic priorities.

  • Manage implementation of the ASPIRE 2033 strategic plan.

  • Coordinate execution of the enterprise Balanced Scorecard.

  • Track strategic initiatives, milestones, risks, and dependencies.

  • Ensure accountability for enterprise strategic objectives.

  • Prepare materials for executive strategy reviews and quarterly performance meetings.

  • Work directly with CPS to determine how the strategy should be built in the platform.

  • Configure and refine scorecards, measures, initiatives, owners, and reporting.

  • Adjust the system as implementation evolves.

  • Serve as a primary CPS administrator.

  • Troubleshoot configuration issues and recommend improvements.

  • Maintain data quality and governance.

  • Conduct strategy consultations with approximately 20 vice chancellors, deans, and directors.

  • Facilitate development of departmental and college Balanced Scorecards.

  • Ensure cascade scorecards align with enterprise strategy.

  • Help departments define measures, targets, and initiatives.

  • Coach leaders on strategic planning methodology.

  • Manage cross-functional strategic initiatives rather than operational projects.

  • Lead project planning, timeline management, stakeholder coordination, issue escalation, and executive reporting.

  • Develop and maintain strategy dashboards and KPI/target metric reporting.

  • Conduct performance trend analysis and identify risks to strategic target achievement.

  • Prepare quarterly progress reports and executive presentations.

  • Facilitate executive strategy meetings, cascade planning sessions, initiative workgroups, and strategic planning workshops.

  • Track follow-up actions and support accountability for commitments.

  • Support strategic communications.

  • Develop strategy implementation materials.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
