We’re seeking a Director of Site Merchandising & Operations to lead the strategy and execution of our digital storefront experience across both Joon Loloi and Loloi Rugs. This is a people management role with direct ownership of site operations, platform management, and cross-functional delivery — sitting at the intersection of merchandising, marketing, UX, and engineering. The ideal candidate brings both strategic vision and operational precision: someone who can set the direction for onsite search, product discovery, and content staging while holding a high bar for quality, speed, and data accuracy across every launch.

Responsibilities:

Site Merchandising & Product Discovery

  • Own the strategy and execution of product navigation, onsite search, filtering, and product ranking with a goal of category storytelling and conversion
  • Build and manage seasonal site merchandising plans using web analytics, merchant input, and competitive benchmarking
  • Optimize sort order, search results, PDP/PLP layouts, and landing pages to maximize CRO across all categories
  • Drive Search revenue channel growth through Algolia configuration, synonym management, and query performance tuning

Site Operations & Launch Management

  • Manage the production schedule for new product launches, site events, and promotional campaigns in alignment with marketing and merchandising calendars
  • Oversee storefront QA standards — ensuring UAT, staging, and preview environments are current with data, copy, and digital assets
  • Lead data transposition practices from PIM to commerce, search, and CMS platforms, maintaining accuracy and compliance standards
  • Deliver production-ready content staging per Figma design handoffs and partner with photo operations on asset naming, tagging, and QC
  • Respond to product setup and data issues per priority and SLA; drive root cause resolution and process improvements

Platform Ownership & Systems

  • Serve as product owner for CMS (Contentful), onsite search (Algolia), UGC (Bazaarvoice), and the eCommerce segment of the brand PIM
  • Ensure product feeds are accurately syndicating data to all downstream destinations in partnership with the growth team
  • Partner with engineering to communicate and escalate system bugs, platform issues, and integration gaps
  • Build and drive product launch automation improvements and cross-functional process alignment

People & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and develop thre direct reports: an eCommerce Specialist(s) and a Web & Content Producer
  • Serve as the liaison between digital merchandising, website development, and marketing to deliver a cohesive, on-brand customer experience
  • Partner with Business Ops and Analytics to generate reporting, measure efficacy, and drive site optimization decisions
  • Bring thought leadership and a customer-first lens to cross-functional initiatives and digital roadmap discussions

Experience, Skills, & Ability Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in eCommerce site merchandising, web production, or digital commerce operations
  • Proven people management experience — you’ve led, coached, and developed a team
  • Hands-on platform ownership: Algolia (search configuration and analytics), Contentful (CMS), Bazaarvoice (UGC), and a PIM system
  • Experience with one or more commerce platforms: UltraCommerce, Shopify, BigCommerce, Commercetools, or similar
  • Deep fluency in eCommerce analytics: behavioral data, conversion path metrics, SEO signals, search and filter performance, and feed health
  • A/B testing experience — ability to interpret results and apply findings to merchandising and search decisions
  • Proficiency in data transposition, product data compliance, and catalog governance across systems
  • Expert-level Excel skills (pivot tables, Vlookup complex formulas)
  • Content Management Systems and content staging from design handoff to production
  • Onsite search management: ranking logic, synonyms, no-result optimization, query analytics
  • Product Information Systems: data syndication, governance, and attribute schema management
  • Promotional and site event management: coordination, QA, and production scheduling
  • UGC syndication and catalog management
  • SEO measurement and keyword/phrase performance interpretation
  • Product feed syndication accuracy and feed health monitoring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field

What We Offer

  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • A culture of meritocracy that fosters ongoing growth opportunities
  • A stable, growing family-owned company that looks after its employees
